Career
I am a partner in our Commercial Department based in Hong Kong. As a technology, media, telecoms and data protection lawyer, I am experienced in advising on all aspects of commercial, transactional and regulatory matters in the TMT space.
I am a bilingual (Chinese and English) technology, media, telecoms and data protection lawyer based in Hong Kong. I have over 10 years of experience in all areas of commercial, transactional, regulatory and advisory work in the technology, media and telecoms sectors, including data protection and privacy.
Prior to re-joining the firm, I was a Senior Legal Counsel with a PRC-based technology conglomerate. I assisted in co-founding the International Privacy and Data Protection Department and advised on all aspects of international data protection and privacy issues. Before my in-house role, I was part of Bird & Bird’s Commercial team in Hong Kong, having spent time on secondment to our London office’s Commercial team.
I regularly advise clients on a variety of commercial law matters in the different sectors of cloud services, financial services, media, telecommunications, retail, healthcare and public institutions. These include negotiating and preparing complex and cross-border technology contracts, licensing and development arrangements, collaboration, integration and managed services agreements, as well as advising on industry-specific regulatory issues in the payment services and fintech sectors.
On my broader data protection and privacy practice, I am experienced in large-scale data audit, mapping and gap analysis and data protection impact assessment exercises, often conducted in a multi-jurisdictional context involving cross-border data transfer obligations and localisation requirements. I am also experienced in assisting clients at every turn of the data security and cybersecurity incident response and management processes, including mitigation, response and remediation strategies.
