Experience:

John’s practice spans shipping, admiralty, banking, insurance and international trading disputes in court, arbitration and mediation proceedings. John acts for foreign and domestic vessel owners and operators, charterers, P&I clubs, hull and machinery underwriters, marine engineering companies, traders and banks, and adopt a practical approach to each client’s needs. He has acted in dozens of significant cases to go before the Supreme Court of the P. R. China, some of which have become leading cases. He has also acquired extensive experience in International Maritime arbitration in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. Before joining Wang Jing & Co. in 2006, John served for the Maritime Safety Administration for over ten years, mainly responsible for monitoring carriage of dangerous goods and pollution prevention, and has participated in the proposed amendment to relevant Chinese law and International Convention.

John has been recognized both by Chambers and Legal 500, and elected as “Talented Lawyer in handling foreign-related disputes” by the National Bar Association of China.
