Career

Xiangyong once worked for China COSCO Shipping Corporation Ltd. before joining Wang Jing & Co. in 1994. As a well acknowledged legal expert in maritime practice, Xiangyong has handled numerous complex and remarkable maritime cases, a handful of which had been written into “Selected Cases of Maritime Trail in China” edited by the PRC Supreme Court to mark the most highlighted maritime cases in the past 30 years. Xiangyong has once been invited by the PRC Supreme Court and the PRC Maritime Safety Administration to participate in the drafting of legislation in terms of liability limitation for maritime claims, oil pollution damages, to partake in the working group of amendment to the PRC Maritime Code and to involve in the establishment of the insurance system for civil liability of oil pollution damage. Meanwhile he has been invited as expert witness to give testimony for some significant maritime cases before courts or arbitration tribunals in foreign countries and regions, such as the UK, Australia and Hong Kong.

Over more than 20 years’ practice, Xiangyong has earned excellent reputation among his clients including worldwide P&I Clubs, shipping companies, off-shore projects and ship-building enterprises, petroleum corporations, cross-border trading companies, commercial banks, finance companies etc.
