Ms Gwendoline Brooker
Position
Gwendoline (Gwen) Brooker is a Partner based in Frasers’ Hanoi office. She has more than 35 years of experience in transactional and disputes work in the energy industry across the board from upstream oil and gas to refining and chemical, marketing and latterly, renewables in wind, solar and batteries. A qualified English barrister from Lincoln’s Inn, she has an LL.B (Hons) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
Career
Gwen joined Frasers after more than three decades at TotalEnergies SE where her expertise includes a unique portfolio of commercial and transactional work juxtaposed with disputes. Her experience includes wind and solar projects, LNG, Power, EPCC infrastructure, upstream operations, and multi-jurisdictional project financing. As VP GC Legal Asia Pacific for 10 years based in Singapore, she was responsible for all legal work associated with energy projects in more than 10 Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
During her career inhouse, she developed a wide network with NOCs and has largely been credited with possessing good working relationships with them. Her work further expanded into renewables and emerging energy transition matters with a focus on ESG issues related to climate change and human rights.
In the past decade, Gwen worked on managing and settling multi-billion dollar disputes in Australia, Italy, Libya, Mozambique, and the US which involved complex arbitrations. She also worked on a strategic wind project in Taiwan.
