Lawyer Rankings

South West > Private client > Personal tax, trusts and probate

In addition to handling ‘all aspects of trust and probate work‘, Stone King LLP‘s Bath-based family practice offers clients a ‘wealth of experience‘ in international tax matters and in the administration of agricultural estates. Kathryn Layzell and Alison Allen, who regularly represent vulnerable clients as a court-appointed deputy, jointly head up the team with cross-border tax and succession planning specialist Daniel Harris, who excels in UK-France and UK-US matters. Andrew Mortimer is well versed in landed estate matters and inheritance tax planning.

South West > Private client > Contentious trusts and probate

Stone King LLP specialises in handling legacy disputes for a roster of charity clients and is noted for its cross-border contentious offering, routinely acting in cases involving trust and will claims over offshore estates. Luke Watson heads up the practice and regularly defends charities in Inheritance Act 1975 claims over high-value estates, while Daniel Harris is a key contact for many of the team’s foreign charities, as well as for UK charities receiving legacies from internationals.
