Pablo has more than 30 years of experience in mining and natural resources Pablo has dedicated his more than 30 years of career advising on mining, natural resources and energy matters, among others, both at the regulatory and transactional levels. He regularly advises national and foreign clients in mining operations, financing, mergers and acquisitions transactions, and the development of engineering and construction projects. He also has extensive experience in obtaining permits, and in special mining contracts, such as property option agreements, exploration contracts, and joint venture contracts.

Recent highlights include advising Lundin Mining Corporation on the $950m acquisition of 51% of SCM Minera Lumina Copper Chile. The group is led by founding partner and veteran mining and natural resources law specialist, Pablo Mir, who advises domestic and foreign clients on mining operations, financings, M&A, and engineering and construction projects. Also key to the group are Alina Bendersky, who has notable experience in natural resources deal-related due diligence processes, lithium-related transactions and mining property issues; and Francisco Ducci, an adviser on mining-related corporate and transactional matters (and currently based at the firm’s New York desk). In the senior associate pool, Francisco Miranda focuses on mining and natural resources mandates; and Alonso Calderón‘s workload includes foreign investment projects, mining property strategy matters and project financings, along with royalty, offtake and streaming agreements.

The five-member environmental law practice at Bofill Mir Abogados is well known for its experience in mining, infrastructure and energy matters. Advising on a range of environmental compliance and enforcement work, the practice covers regulatory issues such as permits, appearances before the Environmental Assessment Service and Environmental Superintendence, and the due diligence for acquisitions and project financings. The team is co-led by mining and natural resources expert Pablo Mir; and director Cristián Franetovic, who routinely assists with due diligence, permits, authorisations, and environmental regulations-related compliance. The group was further strengthened with the June 2024 arrival of former FerradaNehme senior associate María Pilar Domínguez, an experienced environmental law litigator.
