Career

A proud alumni of the Victoria Institution, Jason was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2008. Jason chambered under the tutelage of Mr. Wong Chong Wah, an esteemed member of the Malaysian Bar and subsequently practiced in one of the largest firms in Malaysia until 2015. During this time, he was primarily engaged in trade remedies and civil litigation work.

Jason has represented foreign and local manufacturers, importers and exporters in trade remedy actions and acted as counsel to foreign exporters in every safeguards investigation initiated in Malaysia to date.

Jason is listed in the Whoʼs Who of Trade & Customs Lawyers 2012, 2016 to 2022. He was individually recommended in the International Whoʼs Who of Trade & Customs Lawyers 2022 as “highly qualified” for his “extensive experience” in “import/export matters and inspections”.

In 2017, Jason was awarded the ILO Client Choice Award for International Trade Practitioner of the Year (Malaysia).

Jason has appeared as counsel or co-counsel before all levels of courts in Malaysia in a wide variety of legal disputes.
