Position
Hayden is a partner at Burton Partners, where he advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. His principal focus is on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings, investment structuring and corporate advisory. He also has expertise drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including supply, distribution and manufacturing arrangements. Hayden’s experience covers a number of industry sectors, including recently advising clients in the food processing, heavy industry, hospitality & leisure, technology and retail sectors.
Hayden prides himself on taking a results-orientated approach, supporting his clients to manage legal risk and meet commercial objectives.
Career
Hayden joined the corporate team at Burton Partners in 2019 and was promoted to partner in 2020. Prior to that, he had stints at an international firm in Auckland and a Sovereign Wealth Fund in in Abu Dhabi (in both roles, with a primary focus on cross-border M&A transactions).
Education
LLB (Auckland) and BCom (Auckland).
Personal
Outside of work, Hayden is a busy husband & father of three girls. He is an avid sports fan, in particular cricket (where he is the current chairman of the North Shore Cricket Club), rugby, football, golf and fishing.
