Career
Jose Maria Garcia Ferrer joined Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa in January 2010. He was promoted to Partner in 2024. He has focused his professional practice in the areas of litigation and advice in matters of International Trade, Customs and Supply Chain, including issues related to various Free Trade Agreements signed by Mexico and World Trade Organization Agreements.
His practice has also focused on consulting upon administrative procedures before the Tax Administration Service, the Ministry of Economy, and various agencies of the Federal Government, in relation to customs and international trade matters.
Also, as part of his professional experience, he has participated in various procedures of unfair international trade practices (Antidumping procedures).
He was a speaker at the XIV National Congress of Lawyers of the BMA, regarding the article called “Human Rights and their Guarantees. Identification and proposals for practical solutions” and at the International Chamber of Commerce Mexico (ICC Mexico) and its Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission, in the Workshop: “Cases and practical advice in times of pandemic: Customs and supply chain”.
