Alessandro Accrocca is a rated Italian qualified lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in banking and finance law, gained through his broad career, which enables him to provide key strategic clients in Italy and Europe with high profile assistance on (i) debt and other capital markets transactions; (ii) general lending and all kind of facilities; (iii) corporate affairs for listing companies; (iv) derivatives; and (v) market abuse and management of price sensitive information.

In particular, Alessandro currently advises both borrowers and lenders, in bond and other structured products issues, standalone financings or syndicated loans, including all ESG related issues, as well as in securitizations and structured finance transactions, both on original financings or in restructurings of various debt positions. He also plays an instrumental role in helping the firm maintain its market leading position advising issuers/arrangers/investors in innovative “Mini-bond” products, i.e. debt instruments issued by small and medium companies.

In February 2024, Hogan Lovells International LLP‘s debt capital markets and structured finance practice welcomed 23 lawyers from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe (Orrick), including renowned securitisation specialist Patrizio Messina; structured finance and covered bond expert Annalisa Dentoni-Litta; Alessandro Accrocca, whose ‘problem-solving skills are outstanding’; and dual-qualified English and Italian lawyer Madeleine HorrocksSabrina Setini, Salvatore GraziadeiAndrea Cicia and Daniela Pietrini also joined from Orrick. The group advises on securitisations and EMTN programmes, along with covered, basket, standalone and mini bonds. Federico Del Monte  and Corrado Fiscale departed the firm in July 2024.

Hogan Lovells International LLP‘s banking and finance team routinely handles leverage, acquisition, real estate and asset finance. In February 2024, structured finance expert Patrizio Messina, banking and finance specialist Alessandro Accrocca and Sabrina Setini, an adviser on acquisition and asset finance, were hired from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. The practice also features ‘great adviser’ Carlo Massini; and Italy restructuring and special situations head Mauro Saccani, who is ‘recommended for complex deals’. Iacopo Canino and Bianca Caruso were new arrivals in early 2025.

Hogan Lovells International LLP‘s Italy banking and loan finance specialises in cross-border financing transactions. Carlo Massini is an expert in real estate, project, acquisition, asset and international trade financings, while Mauro Saccani heads the Italy business restructuring and insolvency practice.
