Career

Dave Mertens regularly publishes and lectures on distribution law and commercial intermediaries, market practices and insolvency. Within the firm, he mainly focuses on these matters. In addition, he works part-time at the law faculty of the University of Antwerp. From 2012 to 2018 he taught the subject “Comparative, European and International Trade Law” (1st and 2nd Master) as a guest lecturer.

Dave joined the law firm Schoups in 2004 until 2005. Subsequently, he obtained his doctorate as Doctor of Law with a dissertation on “Protection of Goodwill”. He rejoined the firm in 2010.
