Ms Leah Peeters

Position
Leah is a lawyer in the field of European and Dutch competition law and sector-specific regulation.
Leah regularly assists companies in obtaining approval for mergers and acquisitions from the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and/or the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). Furthermore, Leah advises companies on matters related to merger control, collaboration agreements and healthcare contracting and procurement. Leah has gained considerable experience in the healthcare sector in recent years.
Examples of cases Leah has worked on include:
- Complaints against healthcare insurers in relation to breaches of NZa’s Healthcare Procurement Regulations;
- Appeal proceedings against tariff decisions of the NZa;
- Providing competition law advice to companies in various sectors, including the healthcare sector;
- Several merger control notifications with the ACM and the NZa.
Leah was admitted to the Dutch Bar in August 2021 and started her career at Maverick Advocaten in 2018 as a paralegal and junior associate. In 2019 Leah obtained her Master’s degree in Law & Economics (cum laude) at Utrecht University. Her thesis on competition law and the protection of self-employed persons without employees was awarded as the best Master’s thesis in the field of competition law. In 2020, Leah obtained her Master’s degree in Health Economics, Policy and Law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
