Krzysztof Czyżewski, expert and strategic advisor in the field of intellectual property, entertainment and media law. Partner at Czyżewscy law firm, where he heads the IP and TMT law practice.
Experienced attorney in court proceedings – both before the first and second instance courts and the Supreme Court. He conducts court disputes on issues related to IP, unfair competition, trade secrets, and protection of personal rights. Krzysztof provides services primarily to entities operating in the areas of: film, media, press, books, advertising, entertainment and new technologies.
He served as an arbitrator of the Audiovisual Market Arbitration Court at the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers and as an arbitrator of the Copyright Commission, He was a Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the one of the most important radio stations in Poland – Polskie Radio S.A. Currently, he is a member of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Council. He was nominated in the Person of the Year 2024 plebiscite in the field of culture. He received the title of Ambassador of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
Career
He is the co-author of a commentary on copyright law (CH Beck) and numerous publications in the professional press and business media (e.g. International Copyright Law: a practical global guide, Rzeczpospolita, Forbes, prawo.pl, Puls Biznesu, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna).
Krzysztof lectures intellectual property and media law at the Wajda School and the Film School in Łódź, as well as in the industry zones of international film festivals and during numerous conferences.
