Career

Niccolò Bertolini Clerici, Head of the White Collar Crimes Department, focuses on white collar crimes, regarding both judicial and extrajudicial matters.

Niccolò is involved in the most important criminal trials in Italy in corporate liability, bankruptcy, tax, banking and HSE crimes, as well as crimes against the public administration and market abuse.

Niccolò Bertolini Clerici works with a transversal approach through cooperation with the various department of the Firm, including Corporate Finance, Compliance, Administrative Law, Employment and Industrial Relations, Energy, Project & Infrastructure, and ESG & Impact.

He also deals extensively with criminal proceedings against companies charged pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, as well as with the organisation and management models provided by the same Decree and he is chairman of the Supervisory Boards of national and international companies, including listed companies and public law agencies.

Niccolò focuses on institutional investors, including investors from abroad, in out of court activities, providing advice regarding criminal law issues, in M&A transactions and in extraordinary transactions in general, including debt restructuring.

He is Professor of Comparative Criminal Procedure in Italy and in the U.S.A. at the Università Europea di Roma and previously of Compliance Programs and Business Ethics at the Ph.D. program and of International at the same University. He has previously collaborated with the chair of Criminal Procedure Law and Comparative Criminal Procedure Law at the Università degli Studi di Milano
