Competition law applies to all economic sectors and companies and influences their day-to-day business activities, partnership projects and external growth operations. Renaud Christol is active in all these areas.

He has developed in-depth expertise and knowledge in anticompetitive practices litigation and merger control, particularly in very technical and strategic matters. He has demonstrated his ability to rapidly gain in-depth and detailed expertise in economic sectors in which his clients operate.

Renaud Christol is convinced that competition law is not just constraining and that companies consider it as a tool to add value to their business, both internally and vis-à-vis their suppliers, customers and/or competitors. In this context, he develops and implements comprehensive learning tools designed to disseminate competition law culture within companies.

Renaud Christol started his career at Jeantet Associés in 2003. Then, he developed his expertise at Latham & Watkins from 2009 to 2011, including with regard to high profile cartels and merger cases. He joined August Debouzy in 2011.

August Debouzy covers a wide spectrum of competition and distribution issues, with major strength in merger control proceedings before the FCA and competition authorities in other jurisdictions. Distribution law, including the establishment of distribution networks and related disputes, is also a core area of expertise for the team, particularly practice co-head Alexandra Berg-Moussa. Co-head Renaud Christol is well versed in merger control and antitrust litigation.
