Career

Panagiota Kelali is a member of the IP & TMT & Data Protection. She advises on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance with a special focus on emerging technologies.
Panagiota also has several years of experience in the academic field since she has been an Adjunct Professor of The John Marshall Law School’s Center for Intellectual Property, Information and Privacy Law in Chicago Illinois (now UIC-Law School) where she taught courses on global privacy law, social media law and current topics in information technology and privacy law. Until the end of 2014 she was the Associate Director of The John Marshall Law School’s Center for Information Technology and Privacy Law. She has also served as a Non-resident Fellow at the Center for Internet and Society at Stanford Law School. She is member of the Hellenic Data Protection and Privacy Association (www.dataprotection.gr), a certified privacy professional (CIPP/E) and a founding member of the Greek IAPP KnowledgeNet chapter.
During her career as a practicing attorney, Panagiota has focused on data protection matters and has participated in GDPR compliance programs, providing expert advice to both public and private entities and organizations in a variety of industries at both a national and EU level. Moreover, she has been advising media organizations on IP matters, and she has been involved in trademark prosecutions before the USPTO.
She is admitted to practice in Athens, Greece, New York, NY, USA and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, USA.
