Career
Asher Dovev’s practice is concentrated in two main areas – charities and other non-profit entities, as well as the liquidation and reorganization of companies.
Asher provides advice to a diverse range of non-profit entities registered in Israel (such as charitable companies, endowments and Amutot) and to the full range of entrepreneurs and founders of non-profit entities in Israel, many of whom are foreign citizens and 501(c)(3) organizations that wish to be active in Israel. Asher provides full legal support to such entities, amongst them charities, churches and other religious institutions, as well as colleges and universities. This includes providing assistance in registering with regulatory and tax authorities. Moreover, Asher advises the management on day-to-day operations and the board of directors, audit committee and the internal auditor pertaining to their role as officers of the organization.
Asher is adept at finding creative solutions to the problems facing these organizations as part of their activities, including providing advice during in-depth inquiries from the relevant authorities in Israel, restructuring, and winding down.
In addition, Asher provides advice on a full range of corporate restructuring issues and insolvency proceedings and is frequently appointed as a liquidator for companies involved in complex liquidation proceedings who wish to be active in Israel.
