Career

Günther Leissler has been with Schoenherr since 2006. He is a member of the technology & digitalisation group and heads the firm’s data protection & data privacy group. His practice focuses on regulatory issues, where he specialises in privacy, telecommunications and life sciences. He frequently advises Schoenherr’s clients on corporate data protection matters such as the implementation of global database projects, and he represents them in the required regulatory approval and registration proceedings. He also gives frequent advice on the implementation of web-based telecommunication services and on cross-border projects such as the implementation of whistleblowing systems or intra-group databases. Günther regularly reviews draft legislation in the areas of privacy and telecommunications law on behalf of the Austrian Bar Association and he is involved in legislative procedures with respect to health data and genetic data regulation in Austria.
