Career

Melanie is a partner and head of the Employment Law & Benefits team at Mason Hayes & Curran LLP. Her diverse practice covers the full range of employment law issues as an advisor to clients on complex non-contentious workplace issues and as an experienced litigator before all employment-related fora.

Melanie is the go-to employment lawyer for some of Ireland’s biggest domestic and multi-national companies and employers including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Salesforce and Accenture.

Melanie has advised many large companies either entering the Irish market for the first time or increasing their market presence and on all matters relating to their workforces, often involving thousands of employees. She has a wide range of experience in everything from complex restructuring to boardroom disputes. Melanie has a significant international profile and is the current Co-Chair of the International Labor and Employment Committee of the American Bar Association. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the American Employment Lawyers Council.

Melanie is the External Examiner in Employment Law for the Law Society of Ireland and she and her team are very heavily involved in the training of solicitors in Ireland on all matters employment law related.
