Career

Jan-Willem van Rooij, attorney at law, is a senior partner and chairman of the Energy & Infrastructure practice group in our offices in the Netherlands. With over 20 years’ experience in energy M&A, he is recognised as a leading expert in the energy and infrastructure transactional sector.

Jan-Willem is a partner with Loyens & Loeff and has over 20 years of experience in M&A transactions and projects. He specializes in national and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, participations, restructuring and corporate advice with a strong focus on energy and infrastructure transactions. He advises both strategic parties as well as financial parties such as infrastructure funds and private equity firms. Jan-Willem is co-chairs the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure team.

He has advised on the acquisition of a Refinery, the acquisition of gas & coal fired powerstations, various sales of onshore wind portfolios, structuring and advising consortia in relation to offshore wind projects, various buy and sale mandates on solar transactions and also has been involved in most of the recent E&P transactions in the Netherlands.
