Career

Véronique Hoffeld is the Dispute resolution expertise group leader in the Luxembourg office. She is also member of the Board of Directors of Loyens & Loeff NV. Her practice is focused on commercial law, litigation, arbitration, real estate and IP law.

Véronique has experience in advising on complex, high-value multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration cases, as well as in proceedings before the civil courts and arbitration tribunals. She focuses in particular on commercial disputes in financial and corporate litigation.

Together with her team, she assists clients in complex and often highly publicised disputes. For instance, she is representing Mondo Bongo (Brad Pitt) in a shareholders’ dispute concerning Chateau Miraval, as well as the directors of a Swiss bank following the Greensill scandal. She also represents former LUXALPHA and LIF fund directors in the Madoff case.

Also together with her team, Véronique has been rewarded by various high profile arbitration cases related to the recognition and enforcement of ICC arbitral awards. She advises on all aspects of real estate law, including the negotiation of contracts and litigation. Véronique’s experience in IP law includes working on multi-jurisdictional IP and commercial disputes involving patents, trademarks, distribution and agency agreements, and infringements of copyrights and designs.

For years, Véronique has been one of the go-to litigation lawyers in Luxembourg, as demonstrated notably by her personal rankings in Chambers (Band 1) and Legal 500 (Leading Individual), as well as the rankings of her team (Tier 1 in Legal 500).

Véronique is the former president of the National Research Fund (FNR) of Luxembourg. As per 1 January 2020, she has been appointed president of the Board of Directors of the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER).
