Jan Hvarre specialises in renewable energy.
Jan has more than 20 years’ experience working with clients in the wind turbine industry, advising, inter alia, on supply, maintenance, development and purchase agreements. He is also a valued adviser in wind farm projects at different stages and in regulatory matters and disputes in the wind farm industry.
Jan has assisted clients in Danish and international negotiations for the sale, purchase and construction of onshore and offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of more than 20,000 MW. Jan has an impressive track record, having negotiated and drafted some of the world’s largest offshore wind turbine contracts, including both framework agreements for the purchase of a project portfolio and FIDIC-based procurement contracts relating to specific offshore wind farms in Denmark, the UK, Germany, Holland, France, Japan, Taiwan and the USA.
He has also assisted in onshore solar and wind energy projects not only in these countries but also in Spain, Greece, Finland, Poland, Argentina and Brazil.
Further, Jan has solid knowledge of all aspects of the development, establishment and transfer of renewable energy projects, including in relation to neighbours’ rights and licence requirements under the Danish Renewable Energy Act, investments in or transfer of solar and wind energy projects, and subcontractor issues.
Jan became a partner in 2008.
