Career

Mathias specialises in energy and infrastructure projects and has many years’ experience in advising Danish and non-Danish players, including private developers, equity funds, manufacturers, etc., on development of and investments in energy and infrastructure projects – notably international offshore wind projects. Mathias combines a strong academic background with industry-specific advice, particularly focusing on renewable energy and cleantech, and he has extensive knowledge and experience in investments, project development and transactions within wind energy, solar, biogas, biomass and other forms of cleantech and renewable energy.

Mathias has generally worked with the energy and infrastructure industries advising project owners, suppliers, utility organisations and investors. Mathias has vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the areas of project development and investments in the energy and infrastructure industries.

Mathias’s work includes numerous projects in the renewable energy industry. Notably, he has been involved in large offshore wind projects in Denmark, Italy, the USA, Scotland, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan and Taiwan. In particular, Mathias has been involved in major cutting-edge floating offshore wind projects. In addition, he has been involved in several notable transactions.

Mathias has extensive experience in drafting various forms of customised project agreements, including supply agreements, service agreements, transportation and installation agreements, framework agreements, investment agreements, shared interfaces, infrastructure agreements and the like.

Mathias is the leading advisor within the drafting and negotiation of agreements in the DEVEX phases of project development, including agreements for site surveys (such as geotechnical and geophysical surveys, environmental assessment, wind and floating LiDAR agreement, etc.), and he has been assisting on several international projects within these areas inventing the first cutting edge agreement.

Finally, Mathias is chief editor at the legal tech company, Karnov Group, and he oversees and ensures the content and quality of the legal commentaries on Karnov Group’s code of laws (in Danish) regarding energy and infrastructure, environment and general Danish business law.
