With Presidential elections due next year, the business community is beginning to look beyond the Presidency of Gustavo Petro during which relations with the United States have reached their nadir. The country’s corporate legal market is also anticipating change, as the next five years are likely to deliver not only typical market moves, but also a broad generational handover that – while constituting both an opportunity and a challenge – will also re-make the legal services map.
It seems fitting, then, on the cusp of such developments, for the Legal 500 to recognise and celebrate the leading legal players (both private practice and in-house) who have contributed to making the Colombian market the ever-more sophisticated and competitive. The awards are determined based on Legal 500’s market-leading independent research for our annual directory.
Winners are selected by a judging team spearheaded by Legal 500 Latin America editor Tim Girven, head of in-house research Joe Boswell, and other editors, along with over 20 in-house and freelance researchers with in-depth knowledge of their practice areas. This is the same team responsible for the annual production of our authoritative guide, using the same evidence base. Some practice areas have stand-alone awards, while others are thematic groupings of directory practice areas.
