Legal Market Overview
Albania’s economy remains fairly static, and given that the country’s fortunes are closely tied to neighbouring Greece and Italy, it seems unlikely that this will change for the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, while investment from the West might have tailed off, lawyers are reporting growing interest from Chinese and Turkish investors. Major infrastructure projects, such as the Trans Adriatic Pipeline project, continue to be a major source of work, although investment into the hospitality sector is also growing alongside a rising tourist trade. The legal market is largely dominated by four firms: Boga & Associates, Hoxha, Memi & Hoxha, KALO & ASSOCIATES and Wolf Theiss. New firms such as Frost & Fire Consulting, are emerging though, which provide an equally good standard of service, with bilingual Western-trained lawyers.
