Beginning in 2010, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will launch its new Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) program. A ‚Äėtop level domain‚Äô is the extension that consists of three or more characters at the end of an internet address, such as .com, .org or .info.
