Notes on the Egyptian financial leasing law

Egypt has a modern financial leasing law that was promulgated in 1995 and amended thereafter which provides for the necessity to register the financing lessors and the financing leases.

The foreign financing lessors are allowed to register themselves in the register of importers -mentioned hereinabove- concerning his imports of goods destined for financing leasing, and they are exempted from the conditions of Egyptian nationality and management provided in the above mentioned laws organizing registration of importers, moreover the foreign lessor registered in the register of lessors has the right to be inscribed in the Commercial register.
