Kettani Law Firm’s highly regarded managing partner Azzedine Kettani has an outstanding reputation as an arbitrator nationally and internationally. Naciri & Associés Allen & Overy’s Yassir Ghorbal has a growing reputation for delivering high-quality advice to domestic and international clients in complex litigation and arbitration. Recent work includes representing a Gulf-based investor in a bankruptcy case; winning a $123m debt enforcement case in Texas for a Moroccan company; and acting for a financial institution in a takeover dispute with a local listed company.

Experienced litigator Abdellah Moustaid leads the team at Bennani & Associés LLP, which is well regarded for litigation and arbitration. Contentious IP matters are a key strength.

With expertise in litigation and arbitration, Benzakour Law Firm is ‘a preferred choice as local counsel for international law firms’. Rachid Benzakour heads the practice, which is defending Isuzu against a €26m compensation claim arising from the termination of a distribution contract. Other work includes acting for Philip Morris in its challenge of a governmental decision concerning the pricing of smoking products.

Hajji & Associés is ‘the best firm in Morocco’, according to one client, ‘with good quality at partner and associate level’. Amin Hajji heads the practice head, which advised creditor Glencore Energy on the liquidation of the Samir oil refinery and acted for Stemcor in disputes with creditors. The firm is also adept in international arbitration.

Salima Bakouchi leads the team at Bakouchi & Habachi – HB Law Firm LLP, which advised Corral Holding, the majority owner of the Samir oil refinery, on debt and insolvency matters. Total Maroc, Vivo Energy and Attijariwafa Bank are also clients.

CWA Morocco’s practice head Mohamed Oulkhouir splits his time between Paris and Casablanca. He handles employment and financial services litigation, representing domestic as well as international corporate clients.
