What are Legal 500 Green Ambassadors?

Legal 500 Green Ambassadors are private practice lawyers across specialisms who lead client work advancing decarbonisation and the green transition. They are recognised for their strong sustainability focus—both in legal practice and through wider engagement, such as internal leadership, thought leadership, or participation in key networks and taskforces.

How are lawyers selected for Legal 500 Green Ambassadors?

While diverse in legal expertise, all featured lawyers share a deep commitment to promoting sustainability. Client work remains central to our research, with particular emphasis on work that meaningfully supports green goals or furthers sustainability best practice, regardless of client type or sector.

Green Ambassadors are also distinguished by their broader influence—whether through speaking, writing, or shaping firm and industry sustainability agendas. Submissions should focus on the individual lawyer’s contributions within their national or regional context and only present information relevant to the lawyer nominated.
