  • Successfully represented an Abu Dhabi based construction company in a Dubai seated ICC arbitration under UAE laws against a Spanish contractor involving issues of delay and quantum analysis. The arbitration is under a Subcontract Agreement to provide electromechanical support in a project to treat and dispose hazardous industrial waste.

Successfully represented an Oman based construction company in an arbitration against an Oman based real estate developer. The arbitration arises under a contract for construction of fully integrated business city comprising of workshops, office spaces, residential units, and associated infrastructure having matter value of around USD 100 million. This arbitration governed by Omani law is in Arabic language.

  • Represented an Oman based construction company in an arbitration against an Omani Employer for the construction of a Mixed Use Residential – Hotel Package under FIDIC conditions having matter value of around USD 150 million. This is an Oman seated arbitration under Omani law governed by the ICC Rules involving issues of delay, payment, bank guarantees. The opposing firm was White & Case.
  • Assisted a Dubai based contractor against the developer before the DIFC Courts on issues relating to delay and LDs where a landmark judgement was issued laying down various interesting points of construction and contract law, especially the interpretation of the contract’s notice requirements.

  • Advised a UAE based gas company in a potential action against a contracting state for claims relating to breach of BIT and ICSID obligations for matter value of approximately USD 3 billion.
  • Representing a Malaysia based structural steel and engineering company in an QICCA arbitration against a construction consortium for structural steel works for a major international Stadium Project in Qatar. The dispute is regarding certain breaches of the subcontract governed by the Qatari law.
