Spanning 2,200 sq ft premises at The Quadrant, Bootham Row, the office is headed by Jones Myers Partner, Nicki Mitchell – York’s first qualified collaborative family lawyer who is also a family law mediator and a child inclusive mediator.

Children Department

Succeeding with the most complex cases, the expanding team (now 13) achieves a consistently high success rate in international child abduction matters (Hague and Non-Hague) which few peers outside London are equipped to handle.
Cases include complex multi-issue matters involving international child abduction and complex cultural issues, risk of subjection to Female Genital Mutilation, abduction to Europe and/or Africa.
Most are referred by International Child Abduction and Contact Unit and London law firms. High Court case referrals continue to increase.
