• Our Practice (in brief): Our Data Protection practice counts highly specialized lawyers with extensive experience from serving a wide-ranging client base, including international clients in the Danish market – both large and the slightly smaller clients (SME/SMB market) – as well as foreign corporate groups. Our practice is rapidly growing and employs (July 2022) two partners, three lawyers and one student assistants all spending more than 50 percent of their time within the practice. Furthermore, the department works closely together with the firm’s other departments on GDPR related cases such as the employment law department e.g. on HR data privacy related issues.

The department is facilitating a GDPR network in which more than 100 companies – including several clients – have been members since its formation in 2016. The members have titles as CFO, DPO, General Counsel, COO, CEO, etc. and current members include (among others) FCA and FCA Capital, Braun Medical, Egmont Publishing, Johannes Fog Group and Nordfyns Finans. The network gathers 6 times a year discussing trends and developments within Data Protection in various industries. This initiative is highly appreciated by our clients and is certainly something that sets our practice apart from other firms.

• Our Services: Our practice focuses on all aspects of data protection and data privacy. We negotiate, advise on, and prepare all necessary legal documentation. We provide legal project management in connection with the implementation – and continuous updating of compliance policies in connection with compliance audits. In addition, we act as DPO for several companies. We also assist in cases of supervision or disputes.Expertise of our leading lawyers:

• • Torsten Hylleberg is heading our GDPR practice. Torsten is a certified IT attorney and is an experienced data privacy law specialist. Torsten is one of the very few Danish lawyers who brings solid experience and perspectives to our practice and to clients from having served in-house as general legal counsel for leading IT multinationals: CA Technologies and Microsoft Corporation.
