– Sale of the Majority Stake of Ydrogios Insurance to Reale Group
We advised the majority shareholders of Ydrogios Insurance on the successful completion of the sale of a majority stake to Reale Group, following regulatory approval by the Bank of Greece. The agreement was signed on 5 July 2023 and the first stage of the transaction was completed on 19 February 2024. We advised on the entire transaction cycle, including negotiations of the transaction documents and sellers’ regulatory formalities.
– GIC Strategic Investment in Hotel Investment Partners (HIP)
We advised GIC, a global institutional investor, on the Greek leg of their entry as a new capital partner in Hotel Investment Partners (HIP). GIC will acquire a shareholding of approximately 35% in HIP, with funds managed by Blackstone continuing to be a majority shareholder in HIP, with approximately 65% ownership of the company.
– Pancreta Bank Investment in Attica Bank
We are advising Pancreta Bank in connection with its investment in Attica Bank, along with Thrivest Holding Ltd and the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, in the context of Attica Bank’s c. €473m equity capital raising, aiming to strengthen Attica Bank’s regulatory capital ratios and address the challenges deriving from its portfolio of non-performing exposures. The transaction also aims to facilitate the proposed subsequent merger of Pancreta Bank and Attica Bank targeting the creation of the fifth ‘banking pillar’ in Greece.
