Clerks Services

Our team is led by our experienced and highly regarded Director of Clerking, Alfie Lee. Alfie is supported by Deputy Director of Clerking, Emma Makepeace, and Practice Clerk, Charlie Gardner.

The rest of our clerking team consists of Alex Coomber (Practice Clerk),  Conor Houghton (Junior Practice Clerk) and Kieran Schofield-Hawe (Junior Clerk), who are all essential to the success of our Clerks’ Room.

Our Fees Clerk, David Kirton, is widely respected for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the statutory instruments that govern costs and applicability in all criminal cases.

Varuna Askoolum is our Administration Manager who has responsibility for the management of all administrative, financial and operational aspects of Chambers.

Administration Assistant / Receptionist, Twinkle Plowman, assists with the administration of chambers, and works closely with the clerking team with regards to chambers’ marketing strategy.

As a team, the clerks are efficient, personable and client focused. They are committed to the consistent provision of a high-quality service based on their extensive knowledge and experience of:

  • matching the right advocate to the individual case;
  • competitive fee negotiation;
  • the importance of continuity of representation; and
  • the development of successful business relationships with our clients.
