In 2018 Cugia Cuomo & Associati assisted as local counsel Daimler Mercedes Benz AG in providing national regulatory analysis and compliance overview on Machine to Machine communications and mobile connectivity for services offered on board of vehicles. Advice also included Connected Car Services safety and privacy obligations focused on Daimler VAN services (Mercedes Pro).

The Firm also assisted OTT international operators in the deployment and setting up of national fixed network nodes and offering of new interconnected services. The Firm advised operators in the regulatory and legal implications and duties concerning adoption of minimum security measures and requirements, suitable preventative security measures, disaster recovery, privacy compliance and safety rules.

The Firm assisted Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and AUDI GMBH in providing legal and regulatory review of IoT services related to automotive services, also including the regulatory implications of offering of Connected Car Services. Lead responsible of the project was the Firm Pinsent Masons (Germany) LLP.

As a member of Nextlaw the Firm provided the Italian regulatory and legal analysis and review of all obligations on Kobo Inc. pertaining to offering on-line of services and products in Italy, also advising on opening of a local office and/or local representative required to sell eBooks or devices in the country. Advice was provided also on e-commerce solutions and privacy general principles.

The Firm advised TSI-Payment SA and provided regulatory analysis regarding the introduction in Italy of a new e-money and e-wall for online gabling and e-commerce services and products, taking into account the Italian regulation on money laundering and traceability of financial flows.

The Firm regularly advises operators, including internet content providers, broadcasting and e-commerce companies, in privacy compliance and drafting of regulatory measures in the processing of personal data. Assistance is provided also on framework policies on information systems used for the purposes of consumer credit, handset and individual identity authentication responsive implementation of security measures.
