DAC Beachcroft: Commitment to Responsible Business
Our Commitment is to create an environment that is rewarding professionally and personally, a place where each of our colleagues can develop to their full potential and be inspired to give their very best. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that nurtures and celebrates the talents of all. We wholeheartedly believe that a business with a future is one with a purpose beyond our daily transactions. That purpose, for us, is to make a positive difference to the clients, colleagues and the communities within which we live and work. This is what we call Responsible Business.
We are delighted to have been awarded a Gold Level in the Zurich Corporate Responsibility Accreditation scheme.
Diversity & Inclusion is one of the five cornerstones of our People Strategy. We believe that diversity of perspective, background and cultural experience are critical to our ability to sustain critical value.
- We are delighted to be amongst the top 5 of the top 25 law firms in respect of the number of women in leadership roles. 52% of our associates and 32% of our partners are female, 30% of our board is female.
- We are a founding signatory of the Law Society’s Diversity Charter
- We are members of Inclusive Lawyers, the Employers’ Network for Equality and Inclusion
- We offer a Solicitor and a Paralegal apprenticeship
- We partner with the Social Mobility Foundation and offer vacation schemes to their students
- Potential trainees are assessed through a cv “blind” approach
Community. We are committed to working in partnership with charities and community bodies to support those whom, for whatever reason, have been excluded and help them in their search for work.
- Business In The Community is our main national partner and we support their “Ready To Work” and “Give and Gain” initiatives
- Each of our offices runs activities specific to their community. The firm supports 20 hours of volunteering for every employee. In Newcastle for example we have supported Greggs Breakfast Club for 10 years in primary schools. In London we support St Mungo’s “Roll on Monday” initiative for the homeless
