JB Leitch is an inclusive firm committed to its people and local communities

Relationships are central to the firm, it’s values and the way it does business. By working closely with clients to develop a deep understanding of their organisations and how it can add value, the firm continues to build, grow JB and diversify organically, whilst providing a supportive and motivational working environment for people which reaps rewards.

JB Leitch is committed to equality of approach and opportunity for all. The firm recruits, develops and promotes on merit, working hard to maintain an open, inclusive, and supportive working environment. JB Leitch is an inclusive and welcoming community regardless of gender identity, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, religion, age, ability, sexual orientation, family structure, political opinion, or culture. The firm’s comprehensive policies strive to maintain a diverse community, valuing respect for each other and the dignity of the individual. Our diversity statistics can be found on the JB Leitch website.

Academic achievements are naturally important to the firm, but JB Leitch highly values life and business experience, and ‘on the job’ performance is a key selection criterion for progression. JB Leitch is dedicated to further development and best practice in equality, diversity and inclusion for employees, clients, agents and suppliers, and to promoting these values within the local community. We seek to work with clients who equally share and embody these values.

Corporate Social Responsibility

For many years JB Leitch has proudly supported National Museums Liverpool and this year is again pleased to extend this support through a corporate partnership which encompasses – and celebrates – the vast cultural offer across the 7 venues. NML continue to be a beacon of entertainment, education and engagement not only within our local community but nationally and internationally. We hope our support continues in some part to  enabling this fantastic work to continue and grow.

As we have for a number of years, JB Leitch also continues to provide support to Circus Starr – an organisation with the aim to transform, enrich and inspire the lives of children and families who need it most across the UK, through the art of circus performance. Understanding that attending mainstream events can be difficult for children with additional needs, Circus Starr provide inclusive, exciting, non-judgemental, fun for children that may have found this difficult in the past.

We also continue to support a range of local events and fundraising activities led by our team, which in recent months have included support for Mencap, the Ukraine Appeal and Macmillan amongst others.

Apprenticeships, Knowledge Sharing, Wellbeing & Training

JB Leitch actively encourages apprenticeships, creating opportunities for those who may not have chosen the University route to gain a worthwhile qualification through work experience, offering Business Admin and IT Levels 2 & 3, and Paralegal Level 3. JB Leitch apprentices receive the same benefits and career opportunities as all other employees and as such we enjoy a high level of retention post completion. In 2022 we have a dozen apprentices working across the business, enjoying success in both professional and personal development.

Recruiting the best people allows us to deliver an outstanding service to clients and it is therefore important to us to continue to invest in this area. Reflecting our commitment to best practice and added value, in 2022 JB Leitch has established a new People Development Team, (led by a newly recruited People Development Manager and People Development Coordinator) who have introduced a raft of new training and engagement initiatives in areas such as EDI, Wellbeing, Mental Health First Aid, Unconscious Bias and supported by a new and improved LXP (online learning platform).
