Making a difference beyond law.
At Morr & Co, our commitment to community runs deeper than legal services. A ‘Sense of Community’ is one of the core values of the firm and we strive to be an active force for positive change in the communities where we live and work.
We believe in practical action that creates real impact. Our approach combines firm-wide initiatives with personal involvement, encouraging every team member to contribute to and participate in causes they care about.
Through dedicated volunteer days, charitable partnerships and local sponsorships, we’re helping build stronger communities.
How we support our communities
Practical Support
Below are a handful of ways in which we are currently supporting local charities:
- Providing free use of our office meeting spaces for local charities
- Delivering IT support and expertise to community organisations
- Supporting Renewed Hope’s work with vulnerable individuals across East Surrey
- Contributing to Stripey Stork’s Santa Stork Christmas campaign by using volunteer days to drive the Morr & Co van to help them deliver gifts for them
- Supporting The Trussell Trust’s food bank initiatives
- Long term supporters of the Polka Theatre, in particular supporting their “big Give” campaign which helps provide children’s first theatre experiences
- Community Matters Partnership – or CMP – is a dynamic, enterprising charity helping companies in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey to get active in their communities
- Trustee of the Surrey Care Trust
Active Local Partnership
Below is a list of some of the ways which we are actively supporting community initiatives:
- Board membership of Surrey Chamber of Commerce
- Headline sponsors of Reigate & Banstead Business Awards
- Key sponsors of Run Reigate, a large community focused half marathon in Reigate
- Supporting local sports through Elmbridge Rugby Football Club sponsorship
Personal Involvement
Every member of our team receives two dedicated volunteer days per year which empowers them to support causes close to their hearts.
This initiative has sparked widespread community engagement, with many of our people going above and beyond in their own time.
In the last few years, our team have used these days to:
- Deliver gifts to children across the region in support of Stripey Stork’s Santa Stork campaign
- Clearing, tidying and weeding the gardens at the Phyllis Tucker Hospice in Guildford for patients to enjoy
Environmental Responsibility
Our commitment to community extends to protecting our environment.
Our impact on the environment is considered in all business decisions. This includes basic day to day activities like our paper consumption, stationery use, minimising business travel and recycling, to more significant decisions like the efficiency of the offices we occupy.
We have also recently become signatories of the Greener Litigation Pledge, committing to actively reducing our environmental impact through the following:
- Digital-first approaches to reduce paper waste
- Remote hearing options when appropriate
- Sustainable office practices
- Resource conservation initiatives
- Leadership in eco-friendly legal practices
Examples of our community involvement
- Stripey Stork, Surrey
- Greener Litigation Pledge
- Polka Theatre, Wimbledon – we have supported Polka for many years through fundraising, volunteering and campaign support. One of our Partners is also a Trustee.
