In January 2023, the firm expanded the TMT team then-existing under the umbrella of the Corporate Group into an independent practice group. This new practice group, headed by a well-known tech lawyer, Kwang-Wook Lee, has gained reputation from a wide variety of clients in the media, information and communications technology sectors as well as newly generated technology sectors. The group’s practice areas run the gamut from regulatory and advisory issues arising in the traditional TMT areas to those associated with rapidly changing and emerging technology areas.

The practice group also operates centers that specialize in advising clients on industry and specific issues: Information Security Center, Environment Regulation Response Center, Technology Regulation & Dispute Center, ESG Center and AI Center.

The practice group hired Geonyoung Koh, a Korean attorney and former prosecutor as a partner. Mr. Geonyoung Koh previously worked for eight years as a software engineer at one of the largest IT companies such as Pantech & Curitel and NHN Corporation before starting his prosecutor career. While working as a software engineer, he had an experience in developing search engine program. As a prosecutor, he also worked at cyber crime investigation department, the industrial technology crime investigation department and his main cases include cryptocurrency theft, hydrogen fuel cell technology leakage and OLED cleaning equipment technology leakage case.
