Team Services

HHQ’s Technology Practice Group provides specialized legal services in TMT, fintech, digital assets, cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI regulation. As one of the few firms in Malaysia offering a fully integrated TMT and fintech practice, the team advises on regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, dispute resolution, and cybersecurity risk management, supporting clients across the digital economy.

The group advises financial institutions, fintech startups, and payment service providers on licensing, compliance, and structuring of digital financial products, including real-world asset tokenization, digital banking, and blockchain-based financial services. It also provides regulatory support to network operators, infrastructure providers, and platform companies, particularly in cross-border connectivity, AI governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.

In TMT and fintech disputes, the team represents clients in litigation involving P2P lending, digital infrastructure, cross-border technology licensing, and cybersecurity-related enforcement matters. It also assists with data breach response, regulatory investigations, and compliance with local and international privacy laws. On the corporate and transactional front, the practice advises on technology M&As, venture capital investments, joint ventures, and IP-driven transactions. Its cybersecurity and data protection practice supports multinational corporations, digital businesses, and startups in meeting regulatory requirements under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and global privacy laws.

The Technology Proactice Group is recognized as ‘Fintech Law Firm of the Year’ at the ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2024 & 2025, ranked Band 2 in Chambers Fintech Guide 2025, and Tier 3 in Legal 500 for Fintech & Financial Services Regulatory 2025.
