Interview with: Emrah Aksu, CEO
ASC Law Office
CEO Emrah Aksu outlines how ASC Law combines institutional depth, sectoral expertise and technology integration to deliver strategic, high-quality legal solutions in a rapidly evolving market.
What do you see as the main points that differentiate ASC Law from your competitors?
ASC Law differentiates itself through its institutional maturity, 25 years of accumulated expertise with more than 90 lawyers and fully integrated full-service structure. An integration of three core pillars of legal practice: advisory, litigation and enforcement.
We operate with the discipline and strategic vision of a large-scale law firm while maintaining partner-level involvement in every significant matter. Our ability to provide coordinated, multi-practice advice ensures that clients receive seamless and commercially aligned legal solutions across complex transactions and disputes.
While many firms are recognised for either advisory work or dispute resolution, it is far less common to find a law firm with deep institutional capability across all three areas. Our ability to guide clients through the full legal lifecycle from strategic advisory and transactional structuring to complex litigation and ultimately enforcement proceedings provide a level of continuity and strategic coherence that few firms can offer.
Another defining feature of ASC Law is the strength of our professional network and long-standing relationships across the legal and business ecosystem. This network often provides a practical advantage in dispute management, enabling us to identify pragmatic solutions and, where possible, facilitate resolution between parties even in contentious situations.
Our approach is not limited to technical excellence; we prioritize strategic foresight, risk anticipation and long-term value creation for our clients.
Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?
We expect to see continued growth in Banking & Finance, particularly financial restructuring and debt restructuring matters, as companies across multiple sectors adapt to the current economic environment.
Türkiye’s macroeconomic conditions including high financing costs and pressure on corporate balance sheets are likely to result in a significant increase in restructuring negotiations, insolvency-related matters and potential bankruptcy proceedings. As a result, we anticipate stronger demand for integrated legal services combining banking, restructuring and dispute resolution capabilities.
In parallel, commercial litigation and enforcement proceedings are also expected to increase, as financial stress often translates into more complex contractual disputes and recovery actions.
At the same time, we observe a steady rise in cross-border legal work. While some Turkish companies are expanding internationally, we are also seeing a growing number of foreign investors and international groups exploring opportunities in Türkiye, particularly in sectors where long-term strategic investment potential remains strong.
These dynamics are driving demand for law firms that can combine financial restructuring expertise, dispute resolution strength and international advisory capability areas where ASC Law has developed substantial experience over the past 25 years.
What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?
We have further institutionalized our operational and performance frameworks to ensure consistency, efficiency and measurable quality standards across all practice areas.
By integrating structured internal review mechanisms and data-supported performance metrics, we enhance responsiveness while maintaining rigorous legal precision. This enables us to deliver strategic guidance not only reactively, but proactively anticipating client needs before issues escalate.
At the same time, we have significantly invested in AI-based legal technologies and digital tools, both through internally developed initiatives and carefully selected external solutions. The integration of these technologies into our daily workflows allows us to increase speed, efficiency and analytical depth, while preserving the high level of legal scrutiny expected from a leading law firm.
For our clients, this translates into faster turnaround times, more data-informed legal insights and consistently high-quality advisory services.
Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?
Technology is fundamentally transforming legal services, and we are positioning ASC Law at the forefront of this shift.
We are actively investing in AI-driven solutions, both through proprietary initiatives and through the integration of advanced legal technology platforms. These tools enhance document management, risk analysis and workflow efficiency, allowing us to deliver faster, more accurate and strategically informed advice without compromising quality.
Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?
In several complex restructuring and commercial dispute matters, we have gone beyond traditional representation by redesigning contractual risk allocation mechanisms and strengthening governance frameworks.
Through strategic restructuring negotiations and litigation risk mitigation, we have safeguarded client assets, preserved business continuity and improved long-term financial positioning effectively turning legal risk management into a value-generating exercise.
Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?
Clients increasingly expect institutional stability, strategic depth and long-term partnership from their legal advisors particularly in emerging and dynamic markets such as Türkiye.
We are witnessing a noticeable rise in the number of global clients and foreign investors seeking reliable, internationally minded legal partners in the Turkish market. ASC Law has deliberately strengthened its international positioning to meet this demand. Our full-service structure, cross-border experience and strategic advisory mindset enable us to act as a trusted bridge between global capital and local execution.
Over the next three years, we see ASC Law further consolidating its role as a leading, technology-integrated full-service law firm in Türkiye, with enhanced cross-border capabilities and deeper international relationships.
Having grown steadily for 25 years, our ambition is not short-term expansion, but sustainable institutional strength ensuring that we continue to serve our clients with consistency, strategic clarity and excellence not only in the coming years, but for decades ahead.
