Position

Stephen Cottrell has a busy nationwide practice predominantly comprising of personal injury litigation (acting for claimants and insurers), but also has extensive experience in costs work, coroners’ inquests and credit hire disputes. Stephen’s personal injury practice involves acting for seriously injured claimants and also representing insurers in cases involving fraudulent claims. His costs work involves regular appearances in the SCCO and county courts on detailed assessments, including solicitor-client assessments, and appeals in relation to costs including disputes involving the CFA Regulations 2000. He also has experience of human rights work in the High Court and Court of Protection in cases concerning unlawful detention and deprivation of liberty and deaths in secure facilities.
