Hector B. Viana is the Managing partner in the Montevideo office. He is responsible for handling matters of leading multinational companies, such as, General Electric, Disney (Fox Group), Google, Hidrovias, Dole, Linde, Marfrig, and other internationally first rated companies. His main practice areas are corporate/finance, real estate, technology related, agribusiness and restructurings.

  • Google LLC: Representing Google in Uruguay in its defense of a leading case regarding the right to be forgotten. Plaintiffs alleged that press coverage on a criminal investigation was inappropriate, claiming that Google must erase all links and online press related to those facts, invoking recent Data privacy rules and some recent European precedents on the matter of right to be forgotten.
  • Acon Bios Investors LP: Advising Acon Bios Investors LP in partnership with Humus Capital Partners LLC (HCP), on the acquisition and investment in Biosidus, Argentina (bio-pharmaceutical), furthering their international expansion.
  • Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo (Governmental agency for the structuring of PPPs and other infrastructure projects): Assisting in the structuring of two infrastructure projects (Energy related and Real Estate related) using financial trusts as vehicles.
  • GreenWood Resources, Inc., acting for Global Timber Resources: Representing the client in a private bidding process for the sale of 42,000 approx. hectares of freehold and leased timberland assets in southeast Uruguay.
  • Trump: Assisting in the licensing of the brand on one of the most sophisticated towers in Punta del Este, and its later accommodation for launching of this iconic residential condominium.
  • Cereoil Uruguay S.A. (largest commodity trader in Uruguay): Representing on its restructuring with a club of banks (including all major banks of Uruguay).
