Career
Tom is a member of the Personal Injury team and APIL Senior Litigator with over 30 years’ experience.
Tom is privileged to act for injury victims across the length and breadth of the country and passionate about the work he does for them.
Tom advises on all aspects of injury litigation but has a particular professional interest in complex polytrauma and causation cases arising from employers’ liability, public / occupiers’ liability and road traffic accidents. Tom also specialises in cases involving chronic pain, psychiatric trauma and traumatic brain injury (especially at the subtle end of the spectrum).
Tom is committed to ensuring his clients get the best treatment, support and service right from the start and takes great pride in ensuring they get the best possible results within the legal framework. He is often asked to provide “second opinions” for clients (of other Firms) on matters falling within his sphere of expertise (and is happy to do so.)
Tom has extensive litigation / trial experience in the High and County Courts and has had a number of cases reported. In addition, he has secured many millions of pounds’ worth of compensation for clients through negotiation and whilst recognising that money cannot change the past, it can make a difference to the future.
The Legal 500 says of Tom that he is “like a Grandmaster of the chess world – a great listener and brilliant tactician with a very good sense of honesty and integrity and his level of expertise is second to none” and “highly skilled and professional, highly knowledgeable, very empathetic to clients.”
Tom is a longstanding member of various professional organisations, including: APIL, MASS and CILEx.
Outside of work, his family keep him very busy!
