Career

Horea Popescu is Managing Partner of the CMS Bucharest Office and CEE Head of Corporate M&A. With over 20 years of experience, he has been involved in some of the largest and most sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional corporate and M&A transactions in Romania and across the CEE region, advising both local and international clients.

He is specialised in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, as well as capital market transactions and competition law. Horea has extensive experience in a broad range of sectors, including energy, technology, media and telecommunications, financial services, consumer products and real estate.

His recent experience includes advising on some of the largest transactions in Romania and CEE, for clients such as Ahold Delhaize, L & C Properties (part of M Core), Ford Otosan, Bitdefender, Alten, Integral Ventures, PPC Renewables, Helleniq Energy Holdings, Hidroelectrica, AFI Europe, Advent International, Liberty Global, Element Invest Partners, and more.
