Tobias Somary heads the private client practice of CMS von Erlach Poncet, a leading law firm in Switzerland.

He specializes in inheritance maters, estate and succession planning, pre- & postnuptial agreements, estate administration, executorship, estate disputes as well as foundations & trusts. He has an excellent track record in representing clients in contentious estate disputes and trust litigation.

Tobias graduated from Zurich University in 1998. He was admitted to the bar in 2000 with distinction and joined CMS in the same year. Adding a postgraduate education, he studied at the Stanford University Law School where he earned a Master of Laws degree (LL.M. ’04) and subsequently worked with a California law firm before returning to CMS and making partner at the firm in 2008.

He is a Certified Specialist Inheritance Law (SBA) and a trusts and estates practitioner (TEP) with STEP.

Tobias is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on international estate planning.

He heads the Inheritance Chapter of the Zurich Bar Association.
