Career
Jorge Sánchez is a Partner of the TMC and Dispute Resolution departments at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo in Barcelona, specialising in public law and dispute resolution. He also possesses vast expertise in the telecommunications sector, having held the roles of Secretary of the Telecommunications Market Commission and Coordinator of the Legal Advisory Services Agreement entered into by said Commission and the State Attorneys’ Office.
As a former Senior State Attorney for Catalonia, he has represented the State in key civil, criminal and judicial review proceedings and possesses ample experience in regulatory law, public procurement, competition law, taxation and urban planning. Other former roles include State Attorney for the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, Member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Barcelona and Secretary of the Advisory Council and Executive Committee of the CELLS consortium responsible for the operation of the Alba synchrotron radiation facility.
His international experience includes working for over four years as a Lawyer at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, where he gained experience in some of the EU law’s key areas, namely regulated sectors (pharmaceutical, energy, telecommunications), public procurement, patents and brands.
