Career
Marco Antonio Tapia is a key associate in the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance practice, integrating the Corporate and Regulatory team. His practice focuses on the analysis of complex insurance and reinsurance coverage, advising diverse clients in both the domestic and international markets.
He has been a key collaborator in the design and conduct of the firm’s strategy before CONDUSEF, participating in approximately 400 contentious-administrative lawsuits in which the team has obtained, to date, a favorable result in each one of them.
His expertise is crucial in the analysis of highly complex liability coverage, including multi-company policies. He has participated in the interpretation of cooperation clauses to propose defense strategies in multi-million dollar claims, working closely with the litigation team.
In addition, he has contributed to the development of innovative projects, such as the design of a quantification system to estimate judgments, providing strategic advice to international clients for the constitution of their legal reserves.
In the international arena, he has assisted in advising a client in China in connection with a $16 million maritime claim. He has also assisted in consultations for the development of new insurance products under Mexican law and in international disputes on fraud and underwriting due diligence issues.
