Career

Patricio Peña is a founding partner of the firm and has more than 25 years of experience in the legal practice in Ecuador.

Patricio focuses his practice in the areas of corporate and commercial law, M&A, capital markets and Banking and Finance. He has ample experience advising national and international companies from various industrial sectors, private equity funds and financial institutions with important multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Patricio has been in charge of important positions in both private and public sectors, related with commercial matters. In that sense, he was in charge of several public institutions, such as the Undersecretary of Revenues (equivalent to the IRS at this time), the Modernization of the State Secretary, and Judge of the Constitutional Guarantees Tribunal (equivalent to the Constitutional Court at this time). He was the former Executive Director and President of the Quito Stock Exchange and has served on several Boards of Directors.

Patricio has multiple recognitions for his practice, in that sense he was honored by the National Government with the National Order of Merit in the grade of Grand Officer, he was also recognized by the Superintendence of Companies, by the Chamber of Industrialists of Pichincha, and by the Quito Bar Association.
