Career

Lawyer from the University of the Andes, he holds a Postgraduate degree in Information Technology Law and Intellectual Property from the University of Montpellier I, France. He specializes in intellectual property, copyright, patents, and licensing. He has successfully litigated numerous cases involving domain names, copyright, cybercrime, and patent law. He has provided a series of technical reports on intellectual property for the governments of Chile, the United States, Japan, and foreign jurisdictions such as France and the Netherlands in the same fields. He has extensive experience in legal regulation of privacy and technology in companies, as well as advising on media law, information technology law, and emerging technologies. Since 2013, he has served as an arbitrator for NIC Chile for the allocation of .CL domain names.

As a specialist in business and university regulation of innovation and intellectual property, he has developed intellectual property policies and regulations for leading universities in Chile, as well as companies in the mining, telecommunications, and retail sectors, among others.

He has been the Vice President of the Patents Committee of LESI and Vice President of LES Chile. He was also a counselor for the Franco-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and President of the Association of Chilean Scholars in France.

He has acted as an observer in the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA). He is a professor of Civil Law at Alberto Hurtado Jesuit University, where he has been voted the best professor in the faculty three times. He also teaches in the Master’s program in Intellectual Property and Technology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Adolfo Ibáñez University, and Finis Terrae University.
